NEW YORK - Jamaal Glenn joined the Council on Foreign Relations event launching its Independent Task Force report, Innovation and National Security: Keeping Our Edge.
The report examined the United States' ability to remain a leading power in emerging technologies as China increased investment and capability. The public launch connected technological leadership to economic competitiveness, military readiness, research funding, and the supply of technical talent.
Speakers included Task Force co-chairs James Manyika and William H. McRaven, project director Adam Segal, and presider Kara Swisher. The event took place across CFR's New York and Washington locations.
The discussion focused on foundational technologies with both commercial and national-security uses, including artificial intelligence, advanced connectivity, quantum computing, automation, and bioscience. It also considered the institutions needed to move research into deployment and to keep innovation connected to democratic governance.
Glenn's participation placed his work at the intersection of finance, technology, and public policy in a broader debate about the systems that shape long-term American competitiveness.
