Jamaal Glenn Joins Ethiopique Panel on Building Together

Visual for Jamaal Glenn Joins Ethiopique Panel on Building Together

The event grew out of listening sessions with people who wanted more ownership in their local economies but lacked clear answers about financing, legal formation, governance, and where to begin. The panel focused on those mechanics rather than treating collective ownership as an abstraction.

In announcing the event, Glenn wrote that “capitalism overrewards capital and underrewards labor” and that owning something remains “the fastest way onto the right side of that line.” He framed the conversation around financing structures, legal formation, collective buying power, and the steps through which workers can become owners.

Glenn brought experience from finance, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and board leadership to a discussion about how people can build durable ownership together.
