WASHINGTON, D.C. - Jamaal Glenn was selected as a New Urban Progress Fellow, joining a transatlantic group of leaders focused on the future of cities.
New Urban Progress was created by Das Progressive Zentrum, the Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft, and the Progressive Policy Institute. The fellowship connected American and German participants working across urban policy, innovation, technology, and inclusive economic development.
Glenn entered the program while teaching finance, entrepreneurship, and marketing at New York University and leading entrepreneurship programs and venture investing at Schmidt Futures. Those roles brought a finance and institution-building perspective to questions about how cities respond to global change.
A New Urban Progress fellow profile highlighted Glenn's belief that connecting cities globally can help people and institutions respond to shared challenges. The program created a setting for leaders to compare policy approaches across the United States and Germany and translate those comparisons into practical ideas.
The fellowship became part of Glenn's broader effort to build a career across finance, technology, public policy, education, and international exchange rather than remain inside a single professional lane.
