Jamaal Glenn participated in a Salzburg Global panel convened with Schmidt Futures on impact investing and the role of capital in advancing the public good.
The conversation was part of Salzburg Global's Corporate Governance Forum, which brings directors, investors, and senior leaders together to examine how businesses can become more accountable. The October 6-8, 2021 program, "Responsible Leadership: How Do We Make Businesses More Accountable?," explored board accountability, the influence of activist investors, and the responsibilities of directors and senior management.
Glenn brought the perspective of an investor working across technology and social impact. At Schmidt Futures, he is helping build an impact-investing venture fund backed by Eric Schmidt's family office. His work focuses on identifying and supporting companies capable of producing both financial returns and measurable public benefit.
The panel considered a question that shapes Glenn's investing and board work: how can investors use capital to help solve consequential problems without lowering the bar for financial discipline, governance, or accountability?
Salzburg Global identifies Glenn as a Salzburg Global Fellow. His participation adds to a record of work across business, investing, public leadership, and international exchange.
